With the years of experience that Smooth Moves brings to the table we’ve listed below a few questions that we typically run into. Most of these are common questions but we’d like to ensure that you have the resources readily available to you to ensure your move goes smooth.

When should I choose my moving company?

Whether you choose Smooth Moves or not you always need to ensure that you plan weeks in advance. No later than two weeks but as early as 4 – 6 weeks out would be ideal to ensure that you have all the necessities covered in order to ensure that your move goes as planned. Packing materials, truck scheduling, etc. several factors go into making sure that we can take care of catering to your specific needs. Should you need an emergency move with a quick turn around we are fully equipped to handle those needs. However to ensure the best possible moving experience we’d recommend that you plan in advance.

How long do moves typically take?

Various factors go into predetermining the amount of time any move should take. Whether, start time, type of home, etc. We have the ability to provide you a rough estimate but there is no way to guarantee a time of completion. It is for this reason that Smooth Moves typically prefers to provide you with flat rate quotes as opposed to charging hourly for the move. This ensure a safe and successful move without the need of worrying about the clock. If you do prefer an hourly move, feel free to contact us directly to inquire about our hourly pricing.

How much will my move cost?

By opting out of the listed hourly rates Smooth Moves will provide you with a binding estimate meaning that as long as no additional service, furniture, etc. are required by you, you will know the cost for the entire move prior to us getting started.

Our pricing structure is based on the size, structure, and overall amount of work involved in order to complete your move. In order to keep cost low it is always helpful to move as many smaller items to your new home prior to your official move date.

We provide onsite estimates which will ensure that you are well aware of the cost upfront prior to move date. If you have any cost associated questions feel free to contact us directly.

When should I pay?

Tariff provisions require that all charges are paid before your shipment is unloaded at the final destination. (unless prior arrangements for later billing are made upfront). Payments can be made via cash, check, money order or cashier’s check.

All applicable taxes are included in your initial bid upfront. Should you need special consideration regarding your situation and the final payment please inform us upfront during initial scheduling.

I do not know how to pack?

Smooth Moves has dedicated full service moving crews which enable us to provide box packing services for you. We are a full service moving company. In addition we have links tips and tricks available on our Facebook page. Should you require packing let us know and we can provide it for you which would include packing your boxes, clothes, dishes, fragile items, glass, mirrors, etc. just let us know. All applicable cost for boxes and materials will be added to your upfront binding estimate.
